GUITAR CAP ALPHA LEGAL

Cookie & Browser Storage Policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

1. Scope

This policy explains how Guitar Cap uses cookies, local storage, session storage and similar technologies that store or retrieve information on your browser or device. We refer to these collectively as browser storage.

2. Necessary storage

Guitar Cap uses necessary browser storage to provide features you request, including guest practice data, authentication/session state, app preferences, interrupted-practice recovery, Terms acknowledgement and your privacy/analytics preference.

These technologies are not used for advertising. Removing necessary storage may sign you out, remove guest-only practice, reset preferences or remove interrupted-practice recovery data.

3. Optional first-party analytics

Optional product analytics are off by default.

If you choose Allow analytics, Guitar Cap may store a randomly generated anonymous analytics ID, an analytics session ID and first-touch acquisition information such as source, medium, campaign, content and test cohort. These values help us measure landing-to-product conversion, product activation, successfully logged/qualified practice, repeat practice, feature behaviour, reliability and source/campaign performance.

They are not used for advertising, cross-site tracking or behavioural advertising. If you choose Only necessary, optional analytics identifiers and product analytics events are not created.

4. Storage inventory

Terms acknowledgement — necessary. Remembers the Terms version accepted on the current browser. Kept until the relevant Terms version changes or site data are cleared.

Privacy choice — necessary. Remembers whether you selected Only necessary or Allow analytics, together with the current consent version and choice timestamp. Kept until you change the choice or site data are cleared.

Guest practice — necessary. Stores practice data on the current browser when Guitar Cap is used without an account. Kept until imported/removed through the product flow or browser/site data are cleared.

Interrupted-practice recovery — necessary. Allows Resume / Discard after an interrupted practice. Kept until the practice is completed, discarded, replaced or recovery data are cleared.

Authentication/session storage — necessary when using an account. Supports sign-in and authenticated sessions. Kept according to the authentication/session lifecycle or until sign-out/site-data removal.

Analytics anonymous ID — optional. Helps count repeat product use on the same browser without requiring an account. Kept until analytics consent is withdrawn, site data are cleared or the analytics lifecycle resets it.

Analytics session ID — optional. Groups analytics events within a browser session. Kept for the browser session.

Acquisition attribution — optional. Source, medium, campaign, content and cohort values are used to understand which distribution experiment led to measured product use. Kept until analytics consent is withdrawn, site data are cleared or the attribution lifecycle is reset.

5. Landing-page analytics

The landing page sends first-party product analytics only after analytics have been allowed. If analytics are not allowed, the product remains usable. Campaign parameters in a URL may be carried into navigation before consent, but Guitar Cap does not create persistent optional analytics identifiers from them before consent.

6. Third-party content

Some Practice Items may refer to content from third-party services such as YouTube or Instagram. Guitar Cap uses a click-to-load approach for supported embedded content. Before you choose to load it, the third-party iframe is not loaded by Guitar Cap.

If you choose to load third-party content, your browser connects to that provider and the provider's own cookies, storage and privacy practices may apply. You can choose to open the original third-party website instead.

7. Email tracking

Guitar Cap does not currently use email open-tracking or click-tracking pixels in its Private Alpha email delivery configuration. If this changes, the relevant legal basis, information and controls will be reviewed before the feature is enabled.

8. Your controls

You can choose Only necessary or Allow analytics, and can change your choice later from Guitar Cap → Settings → Privacy choices.

If you change from Allow analytics to Only necessary, Guitar Cap stops future optional analytics and removes analytics-only browser identifiers and stored attribution values. You can also remove Guitar Cap site data using browser controls; doing so may remove guest-only practice, sign you out and reset preferences.

9. Changes

We will update this policy if Guitar Cap materially changes its browser-storage, analytics, advertising or third-party-tracking practices.
